Hiiden Opisto is an adult education institution in Western Uusimaa, offering hundreds of courses in many different fields. The teaching takes place through paid courses. A 50% discount on courses is offered to the students and the unemployed. Submit a certificate of studies or unemployment to the institute’s administration before the start of the course to get the discount.

Immigrants can apply for a study voucher subsidy, which allows them to take one Finnish language course free of charge every academic year. In order to qualify for the discount, the immigrant must also be an unemployed jobseeker and have a municipality of residence in Finland. You can apply for the study voucher subsidy by filling in a paper or online form with the teacher at the beginning of the course. You must also submit a certificate of unemployment to the institute. Study voucher subsidies are granted until the grant funding runs out.

Finnish courses are subject to the normal cancellation terms of the institute. When registering for a course, you agree to pay the course fee. If you cancel your place no later than seven (7) days before the start of the course, no course fee will be charged.

If you cancel within seven (7) days before the start of the course, you will be charged a cancellation fee of EUR 10.

If you cancel your participation after the course has started but before the mid-way point of the course, you will be charged half of the total course fee.

If you cancel your participation after the course has started and half or more of the course has already passed, you will be charged the full course fee.

If you cancel your participation due to an illness, no course fee or cancellation fee will be charged.
